The SIS Secondary Curriculum uses appropriate elements from both the Singaporean and the University of Cambridge International Examinations programmes. The students are 13-16 years old. They are introduced to a broad range of disciplines and experiences. The programme also encourages greater interaction and equips them to become lifelong learners.
General Characteristics of the SIS Secondary Curriculum
The Secondary programme is built on the foundation of the early primary years. It looks upon the idea of bringing out from each student his/her interest and liking to varied subject areas. Syllabi are carefully designed and streamlined without diluting students’ preparedness for higher education. These give students an opportunity to focus on core knowledge and life skills and to provide greater avenue for flexibility in actuating school-based activities aligned in the curriculum.
Lower Secondary (Secondary I and 2 - English, Chinese Language, Bahasa Indonesia, Mathematics, Science, Information Technology, Geography, History, Literature, Arts & Craft, Physical Education, Music and Moral Education.
Upper Secondary (Secondary 3 and 4) - English/ESOL, Chinese Language, Mathematics, Coordinated Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Accounting, Information Technology, Business Studies, Geography, Arts & Craft, Moral Education, Music and Physical Education (Students are guided and counseled by the teachers as they choose their elective subjects in the Upper Secondary.
